50 years in the making
The 1959 Les Paul Standard is the icon of the guitar heroes of the 60’s and 70’s. No other guitar has been featured in the hands of artist on the recordings of more songs that define the era of the guitar god. Highly collectable, and in very limited supply, an original 1959 Les Paul standard can sell for well into the six figures today. This is a worthy price for such a seminal instrument, but equally as unattainable for all but the most affluent of collectors, until now. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1959 Les Paul, the Gibson Custom Shop released in a total run of only 500 pieces these fine instruments in Heritage Cherry Burst.
The Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar has an AA flamed maple top - exactly the kind of wood that went on the vintage Les Pauls in '59. BurstBucker 1 and 2 pickups are precision re-creations of original "Patent Applied For" pickups, right down to the mismatched windings. Original bumblebee capacitors, long-tenon 1959 rounded neck profile, CTS pots, original aluminum stopbar, and tons of other details make it look, sound, and play identically to the original. Mahogany back and neck with rosewood fretboard complete this Les Paul reissue.
This limited edition 1959 Les Paul Standard includes:

I am the original owner of this piece and it was shipped directly from the Gibson dealer to me. This guitar has spent its entire life in my climate controlled studio, and has never been played. The guitar has a serial number in the 20’s.
