Here is a chance to own an extremely rare ebony Les Paul Custom in factory stock 3 pickup configuration. Already 31 years old, this is now also a vintage Les Paul and the closest vintage model to emulate the reverred 3 pickup "black beauties" of 1957 -1960 which sell in the 60 - 80K range.
The majority of the Les Paul Customs produced in the 1960's and 1970's were of the two pickup cinfiguration. Gibson shipments (as per publication by Meiners) indicates shipment total in1979 of 436 Les Paul Customs in ebony, with none indicated for 3 pickup configuration. This guitar therefore is presumed to represent a custom order.
2 owner guitar. 100% original. No mods or repairs. Definitely one of the cleaner of this type to be found. Probably sat in case for 90+% of life.
Beautiful glossy ebony finish retaining significant factory lustre. NO checking. Body back, neck, and headstock are in near mint condition with no dings or scratches of note. Body front demonstrates two small scratches and one ding at the bass bout (pictured with highlights) which have been partially buffed out and are not cosmetically distracting.
Gold hardware demonstrates slight wear at the pickup cover edges and partial loss at the tailpiece, consistent with slight usage.
Original black case is in comparably superb condition.Shipping will be $75 by UPS standard.
