Selling my 1981 Les Paul Custom. This guitar is all original except for the strap buttons.This beauty is getting to be 30 years old, and has been played but not abused.Yes it has some rash on the back, but not thru the finish. Some finish/minor nicks, as seen in the pics, is worn on the neck, and around the body, but its honest wear, and mot bad.The pups are killer, as are all the electronics too. No solder ever touched on this one.It has one Tim Shaw and one T-Top.81 was the 1st year for Shaws,and this one must be an early one, as it has only one.The lead pup is dated Nov 1 1979, the pots are dated 1980, and the serial is 1981.The hardware is gold, but has a bit of wear from playing,lots of the gold is gone, as is common when you play them.The neck is a great size, not tiny. Its acutually closer to a 59 carve than most from the 80's.Fretware is minor/minimal, and the frets have a ton of life left. The guitar comes it at 9 LBS 4 Ounces.Not a boat anchor weight. The Cherry Sunburst is still unfaded,and the top is a nice 3 piece, as its typical of the era.Comes in the original chainsaw case in very good condition. Again, this guitar is played and shows its age, but then again, all the good ones get played for good reason.
