'57RI HISTORIC reissue finished in stunning Tuxedo Black nitrocellulose
lacquer.
Hard to find early Historic
which was made before COAs were even supplied.
1998 was a great year for Gibson's
Custom Shop as they turned out some of the finest instruments since the golden
age of the late 50's. A truly versatile and beautifully crafted masterpiece
from Gibson's finest. This is full GLOSS, of course. Not that dulled VOS
finish.
Plays great with low, comfortable action. Controls work
perfectly with no static or noise. Neck is straight with little to no
fretwear.
Big fat '57 neck profile. The
Cadillac of Les Paul Customs!
Weight is 10.5 pounds like most
good Customs. The body is solid mahogany and the tone is huge.
The reward of a well made Custom is immediately audible as soon as you play it,
either acoustically or plugged in. You can feel the entire guitar resonate and
it rings like a bell.
These are $5K new when offered
in full Gloss finish. No comparison can be made between the new VOS and this magnificent
Custom Shop creation.
No cracks, No breaks, No
issues!
A couple of very light marks on the
front (practically invisible) and a very few handling marks which only black
lacquer would show. The gold hardware is in exceptionally fine
shape. A beautiful example of an early Custom Shop Historic Les Paul
'57 Custom.
