Up for sale is my 1980's Gibson Les Paul Custom. I originally purchaced this guitar in my Randy Rhoads stage and it started out as a pretty typical Les Paul Custom that faded from white to that cool cream color. I then had the Zakk Wylde Bullseye graphic done professionally by Eric Johnson at Pier Graphics. I had the EMG ZW set 81/85 installed professionally. Both graphics and pickups done in 2006. I also replaced the strap buttons for O-rings. Included with the guitar is the Gibson USA case pictured, a replica Zakk Wylde leather strap, and the origional set of barrel knobs, switch ring, switch tip, pickguard, and truss rod cover. As seen in the picture this guitar has a repaired neck/headstocy crack, done prior to me buying it. The job is sloppy but stable. Its stamped "NOT FOR RESALE" above the serial number on the back of the headstock. The serial number is: 82888553. The tuners are original and stamped Gibson. This guitar has dings, scapes, and scuffs, nothing major. I think it adds to the aged or reliced look. You'd pay big bucks to have the Gibson Custom Shop make it look this way. I've played this guitar in the studio and on stage with no problems. If the buy it now price is hit, I will include the original pickups. If not they will probably end up in a project down the road.
The reason I'm selling this guitar is I play in an exclusively acoustic cover band and can't justify having the majority of my collection sitting unused in cases. I'm listening to a lot more Jack Johnson and Slightly Stoopid than Zakk and Ozzy these days. If it doesn't sell, that's cool with me too. Check back in the weeks to come, I'll be thinning out my collection quite a bit.
E-mail me with any questions. Thanks for looking.
