Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop, 1968 Custom, Super Rare, Flamed Maple Sunburst Neck, Super Excellent!!
You don't see one of these very often, because very few were made. This was a limited run in 2008 (sn# CS 85XX2) and is a very special guitar. Flame Maple top with lots of in/out movement, rare five piece flame maple neck with a nice full round 50's profile. Ebony fretboard with MOP inlays. Antique Yellow binding. Solid Mahogany back and sides finished in brown/black sunburst. Plays and sounds amazing. The stock pickups are spectacular, and the neck pickup is the best I have heard, loud and smooth.
This one weighs around 10lbs, but feels nice and balanced with the big super stable neck. Set up with new 10's and ready to play with low action, absolutely killer.
Guitar is pretty much near mint (I avoid using "mint" in case you see a factory flaw with a magnifying glass), but it is as new with only some very slight tarnish on the gold . It is part of a collection that stayed in the closet and only played occasionally and admired often. Smells new. COA w/small black holder, Pickguard (never installed), Case Candy, and everything else included.
Most of the photos are from the original listing when I bought it, but nothing has changed. All stock, no damage, no issues, no alterations, no dings nicks or scratches, no nothing. The rare crushed black interior Gibson custom shop case has an indention at the top (from the factory).
This is no "run of the mill" les paul custom. If you are looking for a true collector and lust for a custom shop custom, this is your baby. I am a player/collector that know my gibsons and this one is extremely exceptional. I won't let it go cheap because I don't need to sell it (just looking to finance my next purchase), but it should retain and gain in value, unlike your 401k. I will regret selling this, but you will not regret buying it!
