Description: sn# 72098524 ( made in 1978 on 2/9 in Memphis )I bought from original owner in 1982.
Original Humbuckers ( minus covers ), pots and hard shell case included. Original case metal hinges broke years ago, plastic case buckles still work fine and I carry the Paul everywhere in it. Replaced pickups and pots last year with EMG Zak Wylde series setup. Sounds much, much better than with original humbuckers. no more noisy pots or pickup ground hum. Clean, rich, beautiful tone, wicked when cranked up with superb sustain and feedback control.
This is not a closet queen. I have played it the whole 28 years I have had it. finish is worn down on the neck and where my right arm rests against the body. Never needed any repairs or truss adjustments, neck is flat and fast, no buzzy frets etc, no cracks or scratches. I've played a good dozen new and vintage Pauls over the years and many other brands of electrics, and none of them have the feel or sound of mine. This one is exceptional. Bought a new JS 1000 Ibanez last year and it was a joke compared to my Paul, sold it after a couple of months.
