Yea I know, another Les Paul Custom. If your looking for an 80's model in mint condition, press the back button and keep looking. If you are interested in a players guitar that still shines and binding that has naturally aged to cream, read on.
When I bought this used it came with Carvin pickups
??? I changed the pickups to Gibson's Classic and Classic Plus. At the same time I upgraded to CTS 500ohm pots with orange drop caps. Needless to say the sound is extremly smooth with tons of sustain. While it was disassembled I had the body polished and frets dressed by Moreno's Guitar in Kalamazoo.
The TP6 tailpiece and Nashville bridge are newer pieces. I went for a naked look with numberless knobs and removing the rythm/treble plate. In case you don't like this all pieces are included, the switch plate is not pictured. The control cavity and switch cavity plates are solid brass and came with the guitar. Weighes in at 10lb 8oz
As you may be able to see the tuners are showing signs of wear or patina but work very well. This Les Paul does have some brusing on the top behind the tailpiece and just below the pickup switch. Nothing major and not through the paint. There is a nick on the upper bought about an 1/8" long. This is through the paint but again nothing major. The back has some minor worming but no real belt buckle rash. Pretty clean! The neck is nice with no rub through on the paint. No repairs ever to the peghead and the neck has never been reset. This is a used but not abused guitar.
Built in Nashville, 6 January 1980
If you are looking for a vintage Les Paul, this is it. Definitally not a reissue model. A newer TKL Gibson USA case is included.
Plays like a dream, truely a fretless wonder.
