Gibson Les Paul Custom

Hello, again kids, once again I'm listing this classic piece of rock guitar history. A 1980 Les Paul Custom Silverburst electric guitar. The serial number on the guitar indicates it's a 1980, made on the 312th day of the year (#8 312 0 695). This 1980 Les Paul Custom Silver Burst 6 string electric guitar was purchased by me at a guitar shop in the early 90's. Made in the USA. (of course). In my quest for more crunching guitar tones, I changed the pick ups on it and replaced them with DeMarzio PAF'S. I know to some this is a sin, but the guitar was a work horse and was a reliable friend when I needed to rock. I kept it well maintained, but it does have some nicks and dings, but nothing tragic. Since I used it on stage regularly, I kept fresh hardware on it. The knobs, bridge, stop tail piece and jack cover were replaced over the years. With if I'm not mistaken, Gibson parts. The nut appears to have been worked on too at some point and unfortunatly not too cleanly. Though this does not effect how good the guitar sounds, the asthetic quality is what is affected. I honestly don't remember doing this, but I've had the guitar awhile. The back side of the neck is solid black, this was how I bought it, most others I've seen have a small silver burst on the backside of the neck. I just played it through an amp with a Rat Distortion pedal and it sounded great. I truely believe the guitar is worth the $2000.00 I was originally hoping to get, but to be fair, it does not have the original Gibson Pick ups, and the nut is a bit messy, this being said, I'm knocking the starting price down to $1800.00 to save $200.00 for the high bidder to take it to a guitar luthier to clean up the nut. As for the hardware, the difference in the price of one of these guitars with the original hardware will surely be enough to purchase original Gibson pick ups, if you must. This classic is Ready for play or display as is. Comes with a hard black plastic chainsaw case. For the guitar collector, or someone in need of a solid guitar, it is a dandy.
