Up for sale is my 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom black beauty. It's in great shape for it's age with normal wear and tear for a 33 year old guitar. It's been played but not abused and has never had any cracks or repairs.
There are a couple of minor changes. The tuners were changed for Grovers with no extra holes drilled. The bridge was also changed to a lighter weight one. These are both easily reversible and original parts can be found on ebay, but the changes are for the better and make this guitar a great player that stays in tune. This one has a slim neck with the original frets which are good shape. It doesn't fret out anywhere on the neck and bends are a breeze. The electronics are original and untouched. I love these 70's Gibson buckers...smooth and mellow with just enough top end bite.
There is a chip in the binding at the 12th fret on the under side of the neck. It doesn't affect play at all and hasn't gotten any worse over the years. The back shows some buckle rash but nothing through the finish. Other than that, it has normal dings and player wear. There are some areas in the pics that are reflections from the light overhead. Black guitars are tough to photograph. The neck shows some wear on the bottom side.
It comes in a brown 90's Gibson case with only 3 working latches, but it does the job just fine. This is a nice, nearly 100% original vintage piece that will appreciate over time.
