Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary Left Handed
This is a Gibson Les Paul custom 20th anniversary 2 tone guitar. It is a left handed one and was made in the Kalamazoo factory in 1974. The original and current owner of this 1974-75 20th Anniversary Cherryburst Les Paul Custom happened into a local music store back in the mid-seventies and was discombobulated to see her hanging on the wall. Back then most left-handed guitars were ordered from the factory, (see '66-67 Fender Jaguar in another auction). This girl has rock & rolled, and has the scars to prove it. Notice the period-correct leatherwork covering buckle rash on the back. Who thought about buckles and Les Pauls back then? There are also nicks and bumps, but no abuse, or anything out of the ordinary for a 35+ year old guitar. Also period correct are the two-piece body and three-piece top, which has some nice flame, and the Cherryburst finish is beautiful, not faded or washed out. The binding has aged to a nice ivory, and unlike many Les Pauls of this era, the inlay in the headstock is nice and tight with no signs of shrinkage. The neck is a three-piece and has never been damaged or repaired. Gibson has stopped putting these necks on all but their most expensive models, making some of these '70's guitars an overlooked treasure. All original pots and pickups, and comes with anEpiphone anvil case
I would like to add that my Husband has MS and is unable to communicate very well so I had to get someone experienced in guitars to help me out with the description. It has been hanging on the wall for the past 14 years along with the 4 others I will be putting up for auction and well cared for. If you have questions or need more photos please contact me and I will be happy to accomodate you.
