Gibson Les Paul Custom

This is a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom 2 pickup black beauty electric guitar with a Gibson hardshell case.  I bought this item used and so I don't know all the specifics of the item, the parts and the fittings.  I haven't taken it apart or anything but it is in good condition for a 32 year old guitar.  I'm not playing it much and think it should go to someone who would. 

I tried installing a pickguard using one of the holes on the side of the guitar but I'm not sure if the previous owner did it right and for some reason it doesn't fit perfectly.  I am therefore removing the pickguard and including it with the guitar.  You can try and see if it will fit better.  I also replaced the gold bridge and tailpiece but the original ones that came with the guitar are in the case and will be included.  There's even a manual in the case.  The case is a brown Gibson case that I bought separately. 

The guitar works fine and sounds really good with a nice blistering tone and a thick fat sound.  This is a solid heavy guitar.  I didn't open up all the electronics and so I don't know the year and all the specifics of the Pots and stuff... I'm going according to the serial number which shows that it was made in 1979.  The "Made in U.S.A" stamp is really faint and I'm not sure if it just wasn't stamped firmly enough but other than that it shows all the wear and tear of 32 years although it is in pretty good shape. The binding is yellowing on the body and neck and the varnish on the headstock is also yellowing.  The tuners may be newer but I'm not sure.  There is some paint wear on the neck with some wood showing from playing a bit.  The body, front and back also has dulling and wear, many dings, scratches etc....but overall it is in very good shape and there's nothing that affects the sound or tone...
There are no breaks, cracks, peeling paint spots, damaged hardware, defective pickups, switches or knobs or tuner hardware.  Everything works as it should and all the wear and marks are as expected from something this old. 
It has some great character for a 32 year old instrument.  This is the oldest guitar that I have so I hate to sell it but I don't have the room for it nor do I play it enough so it should go to someone who will.

This is a well used but not battered or falling apart guitar.  If you're expecting a pristine, new item, then this will not meet your needs unfortunately.

Shipping and handling is $50.00 to the continental United States only for regular delivery which includes insurance and tracking.  Alaska and Hawaii are extra so please Email for a shipping quote.  If you need it right away or overnight then the shipping charges may be higher.  Please let me know if you need it sooner or be prepared to allow for it if you BUY-It-NOW.  I will let you know if there are any delays.  The fee includes delivery confirmation to track the item and insurance.  I will ship as soon as possible, usually on the next business day except for weekends.
