Up for auction is an absolutely stunning 1974-1975 vintage Gibson Les Paul Custom in the rare Cherry Red with Gold hardware!
Features a real nice flame-y maple top! Finish is beautifully vibrant and glossy.
LIGHTWEIGHT - 9.5 lbs!
This guitar is 100% original (except for correct aged knobs) with every solder joint untouched, original 1974 dated pots, original Gibson 70's "PAT NO" pickups, original tuners, bridge, etc.
This Les Paul Custom is in FANTASTIC cosmetic condition, considering the age - amazingly CLEAN! (see pics) showing only minor play wear (mostly on back), and the usual pitting on the gold hardware.
Marked '2' on back of the headstock. Sweet action. Fretboard is in excellent condition as well. The original "fretless wonder" frets show only minor wear. Neck has a fast 60's slim taper profile which feels like it plays itself.
The guitar begs to be played! Intonation is great, and the pickups sound superb. The sound is FAT and transparent with great string definition, and excellent balance when switching between the 2 pickups. The bridge pickup tone is nice and crunchy with lots of treble and mids. The neck pickups has a very warm, smooth and crystal clear sound. Amazing SUSTAIN!......
